Sensex closes in red, plunges over 400 points, Nifty below 17,900

Mumbai, Nov 11 (FN Agency) The BSE benchmark index, the Sensex and the NSE Nifty continued to be in red for the third day in a row on Thursday. The Sensex closed at 59,919.69, down 433.13 points or 0.72 per cent. Nifty 50 too was down and closed at 17,886.70, down 130.50 or 0.72 per cent. The market had snapped the winning streak on Tuesday and continued to be in red since then. Sensex opened at 60,291.70 and registered days high and low at 60,293.25 and 59,656.26 respectively.

Nifty opened at 17,967.45 and registered day’s high and low at 17,971.35 and 17,798.20 respectively. Mid and small-cap declined too by 0.66 and 0.45 per cent respectively Titan, Mahindra and Mahindra, Reliance, TCS, Tata Steel were among the top gainers while Dr Reddy, Infosys, Nestle, ITC, Bajaj Auto, HDFC Bank were among the top losers at BSE.
