Dhaka, Oct 25 (FN Agency) An organization called “Sampriti Bangladesh” gathered at the central Shaheed Minar in the country’s capital and presented seven proposals for preventing communalism . The organization also participated in today’s harmony rally. At the rally, 71 non-communal organizations believing in the spirit of the liberation war expressed their solidarity. The people participating in the march demanded a speedy trial of those guilty of the recent communal violence in the country. A reconciliation rally began at 3pm on Monday (October 25) at the central Shaheed Minar in the capital Dhaka. Sampriti Bangladesh convener drama personality Piyush Bandyopadhyay gave a welcome speech in the presidency of the organization’s member secretary Prof Dr Mamun Al Mahtab.
Leaders and activists of various socio-cultural organizations joined the rally with banner festoons. Everyone reterated their conviction of building a non-communal Bangladesh. The speakers said, “We are concerned about the recent conspiratorial activities in different parts of the country to destroy the spirit of the liberation war and the non-communal philosophy.” The frightening situation created by insecurity is nothing but an attempt to destroy the spirit of the liberation war, Bangabandhu’s ideology, independence and sovereignty. ‘ Speakers at the rally added, “Conspiracies and blows have been going on since ’75 to destroy a thousand-year-old culture of harmony. It will be difficult to protect the democratic and humanitarian future of the country if the repeated rise of communal and fundamentalist forces in Bangladesh cannot be stopped. So today we need the united resistance of progressive forces. At the same time, it is very important to convey the holy message of harmony to every house. The heroic martyrs sacrificed for a non-communal Bangladesh. So that the blood of the martyrs does not go in vain, all the well-wishers should be united like Ekattar. ‘ At the meeting, seven proposals were presented to the government. It said those involved in the recent incidents should be punished severely. At the same time, the past events have to be judged quickly. The administration needs to be more proactive in stopping the destruction of communal harmony. At the same time, the damaged houses and places of worship need to be renovated. They also demanded the inclusion of human values ??and tolerance in the education system including the war of liberation, Bangabandhu and Bengali nationalism.
