The/Nudge Forum convenes agri-sector leaders to discuss innovation for improving rural livelihoods

New Delhi, Dec 17 (Agency) The/Nudge Forum has convened the ‘agri charcha’ summit on 18 December 2020, bringing together senior policymakers, practitioners, innovators, funding organizations, civic society and business leaders to join hands for upliftment of rural households. The summit aims to kickstart powerful conversations on innovations that put the average Indian farmer at the center, to help improve productivity from their farm and non-farm work.

The conference is structured into three primary discussions – (a) Understanding the needs of Indian Rural Households: with eminent panelists from Ministry of Rural Development, Dr. Kalpana Sastry (AgHub), Dr. Mekhala Krishnamurthy (Ashoka University), Mr Apoorv Ozha (Aga Khan Foundation) and voices from the ground (farmer community); (b) Understanding policy environment for rural livelihoods: with thought-leaders from Ministry of Rural Development, Aneesh Jain (Gram Unnati), Ms. Shamika Ravi (Brookings Institute), Mr. Pramathesh Ambasta (Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation) and Dr. K.P. Krishnan (NCAER) among others; (c) Agri-innovation landscape and opportunities: with stakeholders like Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal secretary, Govt. of Telangana (Industry & Commerce & IT) Mr. R. Ramanan, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, Mr. Anil S G (CEO, Samunnati), Ritu Verma (Co-founder, Ankur Capital), Mr. Nipun Mehrotra, Founder, The Agri Collaboratory.

This virtual assembly aims to gather the best minds and the most relevant voices – to deliberate on challenges and opportunities for improving rural livelihoods, share best practices, ideate solutions and facilitate new collaborations to revitalize rural communities.
