COVID: Delhi records 26 new cases, zero deaths

New Delhi, Oct 6 (Agency) Delhi reported 26 fresh cases of COVID-19 while the positivity rate remained 0.04 per cent in the last 24 hours, according to a health bulletin issued by the Delhi government on Wednesday. For the fourth consecutive day, the city recorded zero deaths. With the latest addition, the COVID-19 tally in the city climbed to 14,39,053 while the death toll stands at 25,088. Total 21 more people recovered from the viral illness in the last 24 hours, taking the recovery figure to 14,13,611, the bulletin stated. Only one death due to the COVID-19 infection has occurred in October so far.

The death toll recorded five fatalities due to the viral disease in September, according to the Delhi government data. Delhi had reported 27 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, 34 on Monday, 33 on Sunday, and 33 cases with one death on Saturday, the previous figures showed. There are 354 COVID-19 cases remain active in the city while 111 patients are in home isolation. The number of containment zones stands at 102, the health bulletin added. On April 20, Delhi had reported 28,395 cases, the highest since the onset of the pandemic. On April 22, the case positivity rate was 36.2 per cent, the highest so far. The highest number of 448 deaths was reported on May 3.
