Police crackdown on illegal Hukka Bar, 8 held

New Delhi, Oct 4 (Agency) Delhi Police on Monday cracked down on illegal Hookah Bar and arrested eight people for allegedly violating Covid 19 pandemic norms. The police seized three hukka, two chilam, three chillum pipes, twelve coils, one packet of tobacco and one used packet of tobacco. Two Hukka Bar owners, identified as Hardeep Singh Thakur (24) and Gautam Junaja (20), and six customers, Kashish Arora (28), Naveen Kumar (26), Rupesh (26), Rishabh Gandhi (26), Vaibhav Jaitak (23) and Sanjay (25) were arrested from Hukka Bar. During the night patrolling on Sunday, after receipt of information regarding running an illegal Hukka Bar at Vijay Vihar, cops reached the spot at Vijay Vihar, Phase-II.

Police found an illegal hookah bar operational on the first floor and 6 people were found smoking hookah in blatant violation of Covid-19 norms, Pranav Tayal, DCP, Rohini, Delhi said. Besides this, 2 more men identified as owners of hookah bar who were serving hookahs to customers were also arrested. A case under relevant sections, Epidemic Diseases Act, Disaster Management Act, and Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA ) Act has been registered in Vijay Vihar police station.
