Mumbai, Oct 3 (Agency) A court here on Saturday remanded a Bangladeshi national, arrested by Maharashtra ATS for allegedly entering India on a bogus passport, into police custody till October 8. The suspect Irshad Shahabuddin Shaikh (33), resident of Noakhali in Bangladesh, was arrested by Anti-Terrorism Squad on his arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi from Sharjah, UAE, on Friday on a fake passport. He was brought to Mumbai this morning.
Shaikh was later produced before local court which remanded him into police custody till October eight, police said. This was the 22nd arrest in connection of the racket. The racket which facilitated Indian passports on the basis of fraudulently obtained documents was busted by ATS last year and the agency had recently made numerous arrests from Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai in the case. Further probe was on, sources added.
