Accused escaped from police custody


New Delhi, Oct 1 (Agency) Delhi Police have sent a Sub-Inspector and two Head Constables in Shahdara district to Police Line after a criminal escaped from police custody on Friday. The incident came to light when the cops of Vivek Vihar Police Station went to Preet Vihar PS to register a case regarding this incident, said sources. According to police, the accused, Hariom (22) alias Poly, a resident of JJ colony, East Delhi’s Chitra Vihar, was arrested by the cops of Vivek Vihar PS in a case and got his one-day police custody from from Karkardooma court.

During investigation, a Sub-Inspector of Vivek Vihar PS took Hariom to Chitra Vihar in search of another accused. When SI was about to catch another accused from the roof of the a hut, Hariom pushed Head Constables and ran away. “Police have initiated an enquiry into the matter and sent SI and HCs in district Police Line,” said R Sathiyasundaram, DCP, Shahdara Delhi.
