We should take appropriate measures to tackle such diseases by maintaining healthy habits. Efforts will have to be made on a large scale across the country to cure it. Stress due to overworking is the main reason why we are not able to maintain our health and wellness. “People, especially in private firms work for longer hours, which leads to a lot of stress. The conditions of work that we are working under should not be stressful,” the minister said while addressing a wellness conference organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) virtually today.
The minister further said that physical gratification should not be fulfilled at the cost of mental peace and satisfaction. “The young generation nowadays should keep in mind that life is important apart from materialistic things. Basic amenities of life, i.e. oxygen, water and food, are the important aspects of life. We, as humans, should work hard to achieve the ultimate goal of our lives with no stress. We should strive to achieve the goals not for the sake of physical gratification but internal satisfaction. By realising our self-worth without lowering our self-esteem, we should work accordingly to achieve our life goals,” Jain suggested.
