Mumbai, Sep 22 (Agency) The Custom department at international airport here has arrested two foreign nationals and seized five kg of heroin, worth Rs 25 crore in the international market. Acting on tip-off that two foreign nationals were arriving at Mumbai International Airport, accordingly Customs officials laid a trap at the airport. As soon as they touched down , officials searched their belongings and seized five kg of heroin, worth Rs 25 crore in the International market, official sources said here Wednesday.
During the investigation, they revealed that accused belong to Johannesburg in South Africa.They came to Mumbai via Doha. Both were produced in a local court here, which remanded them to Judicial custody for 14 days. Further investigation is underway, sources added.
