New Delhi, Sep 8 (Agency) A doctor turned fraudster, who was wanted in seven cases for allegedly duping people, was arrested by Delhi Police, from northwest Delhi on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Dr Mohd Sabir Khan (58) who was declared Proclaimed Offender in four cases by the court. He had been hiding in a rented accommodation at Mohan Garden in Uttam Nagar for the last four years, the police said. According to the police, Khan was staying and running his clinic at Krishna Park in Khanpur when he cheated several people by making false promises.
When people approached the police and got FIRs registered against him, he fled from that place and was hiding in rented accommodation in Uttam Nagar. Based on information regarding a person hiding in Mohan Garden area, on September 7, a raid was conducted at a house situated at A3- Block of Mohan Garden and apprehended him. During questioning, he disclosed that he is a degree holder of BAMS from Delhi University and was running a clinic at Devli Road of Khanpur. On November 30, 2014, a raid was conducted at his clinic by Delhi medical Council and registered a case under Delhi Medical Council Act. After being released from jail on bail, he adopted modus operandi of cheating, forgery and started duping people who were acquainted with him on false promises, Usha Rangnani, DCP, northwest Delhi, said.
