ASI caught red handed by ACB while accepting bribe in Chatra

Chatra, Sep 1 (Agency) Sleuths of the Anti Corruption on Wednesday caught an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police posted at Tandwa Police Station while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000. On the directions of ACB SP Kishore Kaushal, a team caught the ASI Keshav Prasad Sharma red-handed from the police station premises.

A complaint against the police officer was registered with Hazaribagh Bureau of the ACB in which the complainant had alleged that in the name of extending help in a physical assault case the ASI has demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000. On the directions of the SP, a team laid a trap and nabbed the police officer as soon as money exchanged hands. Later he was taken away by the ACB team with them to Hazaribagh.
