Shahkot, Aug 29 (Agency) The Shahkot police on Saturday booked two persons for their alleged involvement in illegal sand mining. The Investigating Officer (IO) Balkar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Manni, a resident of Tarewal village in Moga and Gora, a resident of Thamuwal village.
The IO said that the police have received secret information that the accused were indulging in illegally mining of sand from Sutlej River near Thamuwal village. A case under section 21 of the Mines Act and section 379 (theft) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
