Nepali woman held with 14.50 gm smack in Uttarakhand’s Champawat district

Haldwani, Aug 1 (Agency) A 25-year-old woman from Nepal was held with 14.50 gm smack on embankment of Sharda river at Indo-Nepal International Border under the Banbasa police station of Champawat district, the police said on Sunday. The accused was going to Nepal through the bank of Sharda river. District Police Media cell In-charge Lalit Singh Bisht informed that the accused, identified as Maya Devi Luhaar (25), a resident of District Kanchanpur in Nepal, was arrested on Saturday and during checking, a joint team of Police and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) seized 14.50 grams of smack from her possession.

The accused admitted that she used to purchase the illicit item at cheater the prices from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh and sell it at higher prices in Nepal, he added. Police have registered a case under the NDPS act in the Banbasa Police Station.
