Sindh sounds the alarm as 35 Delta variant cases confirmed in Karachi since June

Islamabad, Jul 13 (Agency) Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho on Tuesday sounded the alarm bells and urged the people to strictly adhere to the coronavirus SOPs, as 35 cases of the Delta variant have been confirmed in Karachi alone so since June. It said several people have been confirmed to be suffering from the Delta variant and have shown “severe symptoms” of the virus of the Delta variant in the city, Dawn reported.

Five members of the same family in Karachi’s Lyari neighbourhood were found to have contracted the Delta variant, the statement added. It further said 18 cases of the Delta variant were confirmed this month alone. Pechuho urged the public to limit their movement and follow all precautionary measures, including wearing masks in public places and practicing social distancing.
