Jammu police nabs six criminals with pistol, weapons, heroin in outskirts

Jammu, June 20 (Agency) Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested six notorious criminals, who were evading arrests in many cases and one among them having Public Safety Act warrant pending for execution, arrested by Police in Ranbir Singh Pura here in city outskirts. Police said that an information was received in Police Station R S Pura that few criminals were planning to attack some persons following which special teams under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan were constituted.

The team led by Station House Officer, Police Station, R S Pura, Jai Pal Sharma with the help of CCTV footages of the area finally got a lead and they nabbed two suspected persons namely Sandeep Kumar alias Shotu and Aijaz Ahmed. They added that during search, 30 grams of Heroin like substance was recovered from them. They further added that a case under NDPS Act was registered and further investigation was set into motion. During sustained questioning, the accused persons confessed their involvement and revealed names of other persons also.

The other persons namely Sunil Kumar alias Gokul, Anil Kumar alias Nandi, Balbinder Kumar alias Sooraj alias Giri and Davinder Kumar alias Rahul, all residents of R S Pura, were arrested. Police said that during search one Pistol, two live rounds and four sharp edged weapons were recovered. Pertinent to mention that both Sandeep and Aijaz were earlier also arrested in Narcotics trade in different Police stations of Jammu. Also, Gokul was already involved in 8 different FIRs and his PSA dozier warrant was also issued by DM Jammu for his criminal activities and disturbing the public order and he was also evading arrest. Police said Sooraj and Nandi were also evading arrest in 2 FIRs in Police station RS Pura.
