Phagwara, Jun 9 (Agency) A renowned Punjabi Singer Imran Khan alias Khan Sahib along with his friends was arrested by the Phagwara Police under Disaster Management Act for violating Curfew restrictions in Preet Nagar, Phagwara. The singer is a resident of Preet Nagar Phagwara and his friends were identified as Harpreet Singh alias Jassi, resident of Village Puranpur,Dilbar Mohammad ,resident of Village Nangal Majha and Ijaj , resident of Village Bilga.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kapurthala, Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh while confirming it told this correspondent on Wednesday that around fifty other unidentified people have also been booked under these Acts. SSP said all of them were celebrating birthday of the Punjabi Singer by organising a gathering thereby breaking the Covid-19 protocol imposed by District Magistrate Kapurthala Deepti Uppal on late Tuesday Night. SP Phagwara Sarabjit Singh Bahia said though all the arrested have been released on bail, but the judicial court will decide for breaking the Covid Protocol.
