Union govt. and PM Modi fully supporting Bihar’s development: Nitish

Patna, Feb 13 (FN Agency) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday said the NDA government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was extending full support in the development of the eastern state. Addressing Sant Shiromani Ravidas Jayanti here, Kumar said he was working with the NDA for the development of the state since 2005. Kumar reiterated that it was the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who made him the chief minister. He said now the Central Government and the Prime Minister Modi were fully supporting the development of Bihar. Kumar said his government took the initiative for development of every section of the society including Hindus, Muslims, general category, backwards, extremely backwards, Dalits and Mahadalits.

Speaking about the contributions of Sant Shiromani Ravidas, Kumar said he raised his voice against casteism, discrimination and untouchability, paving the way for equality and harmony in the society. Mahadalit Vikas Mission was established in 2009 for the benefit of the Mahadalit sections. The Chief Minister said several schemes have been initiated for the upliftment of scheduled castes and Scheduled tribe and an entrepreneurship scheme was initiated for the section in 2015. Under this scheme, an assistance of Rs 10 lakh including a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh was being extended to the section for entrepreneurship. The section was also getting benefits of the civil services promotion scheme and Chief Minister rural Transporter programme. Reiterating his commitments for the development of every section of society, Kumar said with improvement in the law. and order condition the situation in the state has changed.
