3-day All India major Ports Carrom championship 2024-25 begins in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Jan 28 (Agency) Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) Deputy Chairperson Durgesh Kumar Dubey, inaugurated the All India Major Ports (AIMP) Carrom Championship 2024-25 at the Port Indoor Stadium here on Tuesday by hoisting the AIMP Flag and releasing balloons. The championship, which will conclude on January 30, features participation from nine major ports across the country: Mumbai, Deendayal, Kolkata, Chennai, Paradip, Jawaharlal Nehru, New Mangalore, Kamarajar, and the host port, Visakhapatnam Port Authority.

In his address on the occasion, Durgesh highlighted the importance of carrom as a game that requires skill, practice, and mental application, emphasizing its growing popularity across the country.He encouraged all players to actively participate in the championship with true sportsmanship spirit and enjoy the warm hospitality extended by VPA. He also conveyed his best wishes to all the participants for a successful and enjoyable tournament.VPA Deputy Chairperson felicitated eminent International Carroms Player Janardhan Reddy of Visakhapatnam on the occasion and wished him for his upcoming tournaments.
