BBMB crosses 11000 mln units generation – produced 19.60 pc more energy than target

Chandigarh, Apr 1 (UNI) The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has generated 11,482.051 million units of energy till Wednesday from all its power houses against target of 9600 million units fixed by the Central Electricity Authority.

According to a BBMB release, till date Board Power houses have generated 19.60 per cent more energy than the target. This has been possible due to judicious operation of reservoirs as well as efficient operation and maintenance of the generating units of its six power plants.

Plant load availability of generating machines in BBMB Power Houses has been 97.04 per cent which is one of the highest in the country. The transmission availability has been registered as 99.82 per cent which is much more than normative availability of 98.5 per cent for hydro generating stations. BBMB Chairman Sanjay Srivastava lauded all the Board employees for maintaining high excellency even during the grave situation of COVID-19 pandemic. He congratulated the team of BBMB for their untiring efforts for surpassing the CEA target by generating 19.60 per cent more energy.

It was also informed that both these PMGSY-III projects (Batch 1 and Batch 2) will be executed on 60:40 fund sharing basis (60 per cent share from central government and 40 per cent share from state government). These roads will be under 5 years routine maintenance contract and the same agency will be maintaining the roads. The funds for routine maintenance to the tune of about Rs 100 crore shall be provided by the state government. The State is all geared up for delivering good quality rural roads connecting all villages with important facilities including agriculture markets, educational institutions, health care centres and transport facilities.
