Nagal shines in TPL, aims for Top 50 ATP rankings

Mumbai, Dec 8 (Agency) India’s tennis sensation Sumit Nagal has set his sights on a top 50 ATP ranking, aiming to take his career to new heights in the coming year. As he continues to impress in the Tennis Premier League (TPL) Season 6, representing Gujarat Panthers in both Men’s Singles and Doubles categories, Nagal has made it clear that his ambitions extend well beyond the league. “My goal is to aim for top 50 ATP rankings next year and I will do my best to be there,” Nagal shared, outlining his career aspirations. His performances in the TPL have only reinforced his drive, as the Gujarat Panthers advance to the semifinals. Reflecting on his experience with the Panthers, Nagal praised the positive environment within the team. “It’s a lovely environment. Everyone’s very nice and is always there for us.

I have enjoyed playing for Gujarat Panthers in these two seasons,” he said. Despite a loss in his opening match against Rajasthan Rangers, where Nagal partnered Indian tennis veteran Rohan Bopanna in the Men’s Doubles, the young star remained upbeat. “He beat me badly on the first day,” Nagal joked, adding, “It is not easy to play someone (Bopanna) who has won a slam. At the end of the day, it’s fun to be out here and play against such experienced players. “As the TPL continues to grow, Nagal highlighted the high level of competition this season. “It’s been great. If you just look at the quality of players this year, you can already see there’s a big difference from before,” he noted. With his determination and focus on the ATP rankings, Nagal is poised for an exciting year ahead in tennis.
