Rohtak, Nov 15 (Agency) Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj etched his name in cricketing history by taking all 10 wickets during Kerala’s first innings in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 round five match in Rohtak on Friday.Kamboj’s incredible bowling figures of 10/49 make him only the third bowler in Ranji Trophy history to achieve this rare feat.Previously, Premangshu Chatterjee of Bengal (10/20 in 1956) and Pradeep Sunderam of Rajasthan (10/78 in 1985) had accomplished this milestone. Kamboj also joins an elite list of just six Indian bowlers who have taken 10 wickets in a single innings in First-Class cricket, a group that includes legends like Anil Kumble, Subhash Gupte, and Debashish Mohanty.
Resuming the third day’s play with eight wickets under his belt, the 23-year-old claimed the wickets of Basil Thampi and Shoun Roger to complete his exceptional spell, bundling Kerala out for 291. This performance surpassed Haryana’s previous best figures of 8/47 by Joginder Sharma in the 2004/05 season.Kamboj, who had recorded just one five-wicket haul prior to this match, has been in outstanding form this season, with a career-best of 8/69 in the Duleep Trophy earlier this year. This historic performance is expected to boost Haryana’s campaign in the tournament as Kamboj’s remarkable feat continues to be the talk of the cricketing world.
